What We Do
There is no better way to stay close to the beautiful Willoughby Lake region than by joining the Westmore Association.
We are a non-profit charity organization and all donations are tax-deductible.
Our mission is to promote, develop and conserve the natural resources and community life of the Westmore area.
Some of our core activities include:
- Providing scholarships for programs including preschool, private school, college, graduate/master’s level, trade schools, continuing education, certifications, etc. for residents of the Town of Westmore
- Maintaining and improving hiking trails and the shoreline
- Monitoring the lake’s water quality through milfoil control and boat inspection
- Sponsoring family-friendly events such as lectures
What You can do
First, please join the Westmore Association at whichever level is affordable.
We welcome new members and encourage everyone to get involved in any number of volunteer activities like trail maintenance, social events, publicity and scholarships.
Additional donations for a specific purpose like adding a boardwalk to the Town Forest trail system or millfoil protection are always appreciated.
Association meetings are open to members and our committees welcome member participation. Please stay in touch.
The Lake Wise Award
If you own waterfront property, consider applying for a Lake Wise Award under the new shoreland management program sponsored by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation.
Westmore Association Board of Directors
The Westmore Association Board consists of four officers and seven other members. Directors are elected for a term of three years, one-third of the full Board (except officers) being elected each year at the annual meeting. A member may serve two consecutive terms. After two terms, one year must elapse before that person may serve again.
